Art Education Program
The Art Education program provides innovative training for students seeking careers as arts educators in a variety of venues, from elementary and secondary schools to museums and community-based programs. Art education plays an ever-expanding role in institutions and communities around the world, and the range of professional opportunities for graduates of the program is increasingly diverse.
At the undergraduate level (also known as UTeach Art), the Art Education curriculum encompasses K–12 arts instruction, as well as coursework in Studio Art, and leads to visual art teacher certification. At the graduate level, students receive a comprehensive education in arts instruction and choose a single curricular focus that provides skills and experience specific to employment in schools, museums, or community-based programs.
