In this Core Lecture Series talk, Assistant Professor of Practice Jesse Cline will provide a primer for all things typography — the visual expression of language. Central design tenants will be explored through historical and contemporary creative works by artists and designers alike, with a close evaluation of how technology has contributed to typography's evolution.
The AAH Core Program is a year-long experience that transforms individual incoming students into a connected community of aspiring artists, art historians, and art educators. The AAH Core Program’s purpose is to afford students in all degree programs — Art History, Studio Art, and UTeach Art — a primer in technical proficiencies and conceptual competencies to assist in their eventual entry into the various professional fields of visual art.
