Bogdan Perzyński presents The Countdown, his new time–based online work created especially for WAKE AMERICA!, the third annual program of “cinematic resistance” to the 45th president of the United States. In this exhibition, Experimental Response Cinema offers an energized, positive and hopeful collection of avant-garde agit-prop films, featuring works by local as well as national and international media artists.
WAKE AMERICA! posits art-making as a necessary response to the urgent issues of our time. The program includes work by local artists Bogdan Perzyński, Carlo Nasisse and Patricia Nogueira, as well as non-local artists Kerry Laitala, Devon Narine-Singh, Sabine Gruffat, Abdoul-Ganiou Dermani and Gwendolyn Audrey Foster, among others.
WAKE AMERICA! opens at the Museum of Human Achievement on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 8 p.m. Proceeds and donations will go toward Refugee Services of Texas.
