Aunica Cesena (graduate student, graduating May 2022) has accepted a prestigious post graduate internship at the Getty Research Institute for the African-American Art History Initiative with the Paul R. Williams Archive Project in Los Angeles, CA.
Zoe Fejeran (graduate student, graduating May 2022) has accepted a position as a museum educator in the Western Gallery at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA.
Olivia Spiers (graduate student, graduating May 2022) has been hired for a new position as the Gallery Coordinator for Outreach and Programs at the Austin Community College Art Galleries in Austin, Texas.
Carlos Becerril Tella (graduate student, graduating May 2022) is the CEO of Kreattive, a newly formed company based in Mexico City, which offers online art and design courses to teens.
Alice Brandenburg (graduating 2023) interned this summer with Drama for Schools Summer Institute at the University of Texas at Austin.

Faculty news:
Dr. Christopher Adejumo has been collaborating with an art education faculty member from West Virginia University (who is visiting Austin with support from a Big XII Fellowship), on a community art project.
Dr. Donalyn Heise, with AED alumni Zoe Fejeran and Olivia Spiers (AED 2022), conducted a workshop entitled The Art of Wellness at Dell Medical Center. This workshop built upon their combined research areas of art museum education, resilience and trauma-informed practices to enhance wellness through art for OBGYN residents.
Dr. Christina Bain was selected to serve as an 2022-2024 At-Large Representative for the National Art Education Association's Research Commission.
Dr. Christina Bain was selected to attend the 2022 National Art Education Association's School for Arts Leaders. Participants will attend a week long training this summer in Bentonville, Arkansas, but this year long program results in a capstone project.
Dr. Donalyn Heise, Dr. Dawn Stienecker, Dr. Christina Bain, and Arianna Baptiste-Hernandez (AED 2023) led a day long professional development workshop for Pflugerville ISD art teachers (March 25). Discussions and activities focused on "Hidden EDI gems at UT" which local art educators may integrate in their K-12 art curriculum
