Bio
Now ABD, Aja is currently working on her dissertation: An expanded monograph of Firelei Báez read through the lens of “survivance.” She was the 2021–2022 Mellon Fellow in Contemporary Art at the Blanton Museum of Art, and a guest editor for the Mid-American Print Council Journal. Before relocating to pursue doctoral work, Aja served as Assistant Professor of Art at the University of Montana Western for three years. When not in Austin, Aja can be found in Kansas City with her wife.
