Bio
Shan-Chuan Hsiao is a second-year master's student in Art History at the University of Texas at Austin. She received her Bachelor of Arts with Honors from National Taiwan University in 2023, awarded by College Student Research Fellowship from the National Science Council, Taiwan. In the summer of 2024, she was a research and curatorial intern in the Department of International Art after 1800 at the Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest/Hungarian National Gallery.
Her research focuses on 19th-century European art, specializing in British, French, and Belgian paintings and drawings. Her topical interests are broad, encompassing art criticism and literature, art and science, as well as art in folklore and witchcraft.
